INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT (IDP) – REQUIREMENTS
Documents Required
Applicants must submit the following:
- Valid Sri Lankan Driving License (not less than one year) or Extract of the Driving License from the Department of Motor Traffic, Werahera (required for lifetime/non-renewable driving licenses holder)
- Photocopy of the Sri Lanka Driving License/Extract.
- Duly Completed IDP Application Form.
- 3 Passport-size-colored photographs
Eligibility
- Valid Sri Lankan Driving License (valid for one year on submission of application).
- If applicants who is holding lifetime (non-renewable) license must submit a Driving License Extract obtained from the Department of Motor Traffic, Werahera.
- The IDP holder should also carry the original Sri Lankan Driving License when driving abroad.

The Applicant for a International Driving License with the life time (Old) – nonrenewable (License) is required to submit an extract of your Sri Lanka Driving License obtained from the Department of Motor Traffic at Werahara
